#810a

January 21, 2016

When I first started Step Four, I uncovered a desire to be distracted.
That desire is growing weaker, but it has not died.
The desire to be distracted sees the practice of awakening as ‘work’ that I do,
and it wants to rest from ‘work’.

Wanting to rest from ‘work’ is a reasonable idea.
Instead of trying to shift to a mindset that does not permit rest,
why not look more honestly and realize that spiritual practice is rest?
It is joyous rest.
